“AZHAGIYA THAMIZH MAGAN” MUSIC REVIEW:
The audio of one of the most anticipated Tamil movies is out. Coming together of A.R.Rahman and Vijay for the second time after the forgettable Udhaya. This movie had a lot of expectations from the music department and A.R.Rahman delivers with aplomb. There are 6 tracks in this flick. My friend Sirish told me about this link Hummaa where you can listen without dowloading any extra players.
* Ellaappugazhum sung by A.R. Rahman himself. The song starts with a high tempo beat combined with a chorus. Then A.R.Rahman starts crooning and has sung it very well. The song starts with a superb chorus “munnaal munnaal vaada, unnaal mudiyum unnaal mudiyum thozha”. The lyrics are well written and would go with the hero worshiping that is so popular. The tune is very catchy and it should become an instant chart buster. This is definitely the best song in the album.
* Kelaamal Kaiyile is a peppy and soothing song. This song reminded me instantly of the song “Jill Jill” from Kannathil Muthamittal and “Nee Yaaro” from Ayutha Ezhuthu. Sriram Parthasarathy and Saindhavi have lent their voice for this song. This song is easy on the ears but not super hit quality. To be blunt, I wasn’t highly impressed with this song.
* Maduraikku Pogathedee All Vijay’s movies have a mass song catered specifically for the B & C centers. This is a very earthy tamil folk song. Sung by Benny Dayal, Archith, and Dharshana, A.R.R has composed this kind of a song after a while. If you listen to this song with no prior knowledge about the music director, it would remind you of Deva’s work. Nevertheless, a decent song.
* Nee Marilyn Monroe sung by Benny Dayal and Ujjayinee is a romantic song probably with Vijay and Namitha. You could make this out from the lyrics (English and Tamil mixed one on one). The song needs repeated listening to be liked. I think this song will have good dance moves providing ideal platform for Vijay to shake legs. I didn’t find the song very catchy yet.
* Ponmagal Vandaal As the name says it’s a remix song of the older classic. This will become a hit just like Vijay’s remix song from Pokkirri. Aslam and Ember Rap are the singers. ARR has done a great job with mixing. The songs starts out slow with strong beats and transitions to techno rap. Very innovative for classical old-gold song!
* Valayapatti Instant Chart Buster. It took me just few seconds to love this song. The singers Naresh Iyer, Ujjayinee and Madhumitha are in top form. A very earthy fast-paced song again with a classical feel to it. The male lead has done a terrific job in rendering this song. It comes across as a feel good song. This was my next favorite after the opening number.
This album is one of the best albums to hit this year after Sivaji. I enjoyed listening to this album and am looking forward to the movie. Listen to it few times to appreciate the music. A.R.Rahman has showed “yet” again that he is definitely unparalleled and the best !

“BHEEMA” MUSIC REVIEW:
Harris Jayaraj composed a nice compilation of music for this movie. Here he restrains himself from over-the-top music commonly attributed to him and the results are for everyone to appreciate.
Mudhal Mazhai - Funny start with the wordings Mehu Mehu Mehu, pleasing to the ear – Hariharan is restrained and Mahathi is accomplished. One of the nice songs which comes and vanishes without you noticing it and one rushing to play it again.
Oru Mugamo - The heavy rhythmic of the lot in the movie, just enjoy the music, not worry about the lyrics. It sounded like the music carried the song.
Enathuriya - The slowest song of the lot, the pick of the album, could hear multiple female voices, Sadhana Sargam definitely sounded one among them, several musical instruments were used, hard to distinguish which ones were used.
Ragasiya - Madhushree and Hariharan seem to just slide ever so smoothly in the song, good one
Siru Parvayale - Gaana song, but the music is lilting and the singers Harini and Karthik do justice. Some Middle-east infusion and weird non-Tamil wordings donot spoil it one bit but add zip. More apt for a house dance party.
Rangu Rangamma - so-so song.
